This past weekend, my wife and I set out on a tasty journey that took us from enjoying fresh lobster to savoring some mouth-watering barbecue. Our day was filled with fantastic flavors, great vibes, and memorable meals that we’re excited to share.
Lunch at Cousins Maine Lobster Truck, Shamokin, PA
My wife saw that the Cousins Maine Lobster truck would be parked outside Covered Bridge Brewhaus & Taproom in Shamokin, so we decided to head there for lunch.
We tried a few different items:
Lobster Tots: These crispy, golden bites were a perfect mix of traditional tots with warmed Maine lobster, cilantro lime sauce, and pico de gallo. The combination added a fresh and zesty kick to each bite.
Lobster Quesadilla: A unique take on the classic quesadilla, this dish was packed with Maine lobster, shredded cheese, pico de gallo, and cilantro lime sauce, all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla. It was flavorful and satisfying.
Lobster Bisque: Creamy and smooth, the bisque was the perfect starter. It was rich without being too heavy, allowing the delicate flavor of the lobster to stand out.

After getting our order, we headed home to savor the flavors and enjoy the afternoon.
Evening BBQ Feast at Homestead Barbecue, Danville, PA
Later in the day, my wife saw a post on Facebook indicating that Homestead Barbecue would be outside Rock God Brewing Company for the day, so we decided to head there for dinner.
We tried several items from their menu:
Pulled Pork with Dill Potato Salad: The pulled pork was tender and flavorful, perfectly paired with the creamy dill potato salad. The combination of smoky meat and tangy sides created a wonderful balance of flavors.
Brisket Nachos: These nachos were loaded with generous slices of brisket, melted cheese, jalapeños, and a drizzle of tangy barbecue sauce. Each bite was a great mix of textures and tastes.
Brisket Platter with Mac and Cheese: This hearty platter featured succulent brisket served alongside creamy, cheesy mac and cheese. The combination was both comforting and indulgent, making it a standout dish.
Brisket Sandwich: The brisket sandwich was a masterpiece of smoky meat nestled between soft, freshly baked bread. Topped with pickles and a smear of barbecue sauce, it was the perfect handheld treat.

Before long, we had our order and were on our way home to enjoy the sampling. Truth be told, my wife was driving, so I picked at the nachos on the way home.
A Day Well Spent with a Wide Array of Flavors
From the fresh taste of lobster to the rich flavors of barbecue, our day showcased the diverse and delicious options available in the towns surrounding us. If you see either of these businesses in your ares, be sure to hit them up for some yums.
